The airplane had to circle in the Mediterranean Sea, as it did not initially have permission to enter Italian airspace.
The plane was supposed to fly directly to Rzeszow (where the train to Ukraine departs), but instead the pilot flew to Warsaw.
Ramaphosa's security entourage consisted of +120 people
They were apparently heavily armed
The South African embassy in Warsaw thought that they could disembark with photocopied permits (They required the original documents)
The entourage is still stranded on the plane
