Nothing can prepare you for how absolutely, ridiculously incompetent the cops were during the Texas shooting.

They let the shooter go around killing people, refused to intervene, handcuffed and pepper-sprayed the children's parents who wanted to go in and take their children and directly led to the death of a child who was hiding from the shooter.
This is horrible, horrible beyond belief.
