A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the state of Bihar, Gopal Mandal, caused a storm on board an express train bound for New Delhi on Thursday, strolling around the carriage wearing no trousers.
His fellow passengers allegedly rebuked the politician for being improperly dressed in a public place and Mandal responded by shouting at the passengers and threatening to shoot them. One of the passengers appealed to the Railway Police Force officials after the lawmaker attempted to beat up his fellow passengers over complaints about his appearance.
After the incident, Gopal Mandal explained that it was all the fault of his upset stomach:
"I was only wearing undergarments as my stomach was upset during the journey."
