How can one earn freedom in life and be liberated? Bhagawan explains to us today, so that we may march towards freedom, living peacefully and joyfully!

When a prisoner is taken from place to place, he’s accompanied by two constables, isn’t it? When man, who is a prisoner in this jail, moves from one place to another, he too is accompanied by egoism and attachment (ahamkaram and mamakaram). When you move about without these two, you can be sure that you are free, liberated from prison. Now that I have referred to jail and jail life, let Me tell you more! You are all under sentence of imprisonment in this jail. There’s no use hoping for reward when you work in jail; you work because you are ordered to, and you must work well too. You can’t argue that rewards are not distributed justly and you are not entitled to desist from allotted tasks! If you do so, your sentence will be extended or you will be transferred to another jail. On the other hand, if you quietly accept the sentence and go about your work without clamouring or murmuring, your term is reduced, and you are sent out with a certificate that ensures a happy life, unpestered!

As part of 21st anniversary celebrations, the staff of Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre collectively offered their gratitude to Bhagawan in the form of a Quiz Program - Sri Sathya Sai Jeevanamrutam, on the Life and Message of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Sai Kulwant Hall.

The evening proceedings began with Vedam Chanting followed by the quiz, ‘Sri Sathya Sai Jeevanamrutam’ followed by music program. The evening session concluded with bhajans and Arati.

In the process of formal education, and learning in life in general, what should we do to get the best training? Bhagawan lovingly grants us precious guidance today, for both the student and the teacher.

Training (sikshana) is a process in which the teacher and the taught cooperate. It must be a pleasant experience, a useful and heartening endeavour,  for both. “KshanaÓ means “a second”, and I want that you must learn a good lesson every second of your life. For example, when the teacher enters the classroom, children should salute the teacher; that is a lesson in humility, in respecting age and scholarship, in gratitude for the service rendered. Teachers too should perform to deserve the salutation of the children entrusted to their care by their sincere work and selfless service. The student should not respect the teacher out of fear but must be moved by their love. The teacher should avoid all methods that frighten or terrorise! Education is a slow process like the unfolding of a flower, the fragrance becoming deeper and more perceptible with the silent blossoming, petal by petal, of the entire flower!
