ARCore apps are appearing on the Play Store.
ARCore apps are rolling out this week, presumably in advance of GDC next week.
The biggest property so far is Tamagotchi with
My Tamagotchi Forever - [and it's now available on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.bandainamcoent.mytamagotchiforever).
It seems like Google Maps APIs are getting a big push at GDC - promising to make it simple to develop location-based games like Pokemon GO - and three more big licenses are
The Walking Dead,
Ghostbusters, and
Jurassic World. These aren't available yet, but will probably go live for GDC.
Also, the BBC has released
Civilisations AR [on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.bbc.civilisations), and the
Porsche Mission E app shown at MWC is [on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.porsche.missionear). Both these apps download a lot of data when run for the first time, so you may want to wait until you're on Wi-Fi for them.
There are a number of indie apps you should check out as well:
Atom Visualizer obviously - the first ARCore app released on the Play Store and the most downloaded so far. [Get it on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.signalgarden.atomvisualizer). It's pretty basic, but a good test app for ARCore as it has fixes for Pixel, Samsung and OnePlus devices, as well as proper permission handling, so it should work on any ARCore compatible device. Try it out if you're experiencing crashes or black screens in other apps and want to figure out if it's actually a problem with your device.
Some indie Tango apps have been updated for ARCore including
Solar Simulator [on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tech.solarsimulator.app.arcore) and
Slingshot Island [on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socketheadgames.slingshotisland).
The fact that these developers have been working in AR for a long time really shows IMO - they deserve your support. Solar Simulator in particular is scientifically accurate and translated into 11 languages. There seem to be a lot of ARCore solar system demo apps, and its a shame most of them are just 3D planet models with inaccurate orbits.
Finally, check out
Booty Traps! which is still under development but [free on the Play Store here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.signalgarden.goody.bootytraps).
