Tempers flare tonight in Cottingham as a meeting was held over plans to move 1,100 fighting age illegal immigrant men into former student accommodation in the village.
A councillor said that for some critics of the plans it was "just about race", the usual cop out.
Locals are planning a protest at the site for Saturday.
