Russians damaged a substation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant: the nuclear plant is de-energized and running on a generator

On the morning of October 12, the Dniprovska substation in the Dnepropetrovsk region was damaged due to a rocket fire by Russian troops. As a result, there was an emergency shutdown of the 750kV ZNPP communication line – Dniprovska.

Consequently, Zaporizhzhia NPP was completely de-energized. Diesel generators turned on automatically.

Enerhoatom sent a batch of diesel fuel to the ZNPP. However, as of 10.00 a.m., the Russian side is not allowing the Company's convoy of vehicles to pass.

The Russians continue to neglect the nuclear and radiation safety of Europe's largest nuclear power plant, threatening the world with a radiation disaster.
