On the engraving of 1685 from the traveler and artist Witsen, we see the city of Albazin-on-Amur, which was part of the Great Tartaria. The moment of the Manchu attack on the city with a star-type bastion is depicted.
There were no star fortresses, bastions and redoubts before the appearance of Peter 1, as the officials assure. Only with the advent of Peter they were built throughout Russia.
And the second photo is an engraving with the same plot and time, but from the Chinese side, preserved in the Museum of the US Congress. On it, they didn’t hear about any fortress at all, they stormed an ordinary fence in the field. And the Chinese do not care that archaeologists there, in fact, dug up the ramparts of an ancient fortress.
The Chinese version of the story is like Chinese sneakers - it seems similar, but the Иike logo seems to be confusing.
