From the Sumerian texts it follows that in very remote times on the Earth, which they called Ki, the alien gods founded their colony. Initially, 50 aliens were sent to Earth. They were called anu-na-ki. They were led by the eldest son of Anu - En-ki (Lord of the Earth). According to the King List, Enki's reign in Eridu lasted 28,000 years. However, subsequently a more severe younger son of Anu, En-lil (lord of the air), was placed over him. Enlil increased the colony of aliens on Earth, and placed some in near-Earth orbit:
