Donbass offensive: the situation in eastern Ukraine at the end of June 18, 2022
In Kharkov region clashes continue in the north of the region and in Izyum district.
In the territories bordering Russia, there are battles in the vicinity of Dementievka and Pitomnik.
As night fell, Russian Iskanders fired on Ukrainian Armed Forces targets in Kharkov city limits.
In the Izyum direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to reinforce their positions on the line Chepel - Protopopovka - Petrovskoye, probing the defense of the Russian Armed Forces near Izyum. For its part, the Russian Armed Forces' artillery carried out massive strikes on the enemy's fortifications in Chepel.
The AFU struck the former command post of the 20th Army of the RF Armed Forces: at the time of the strike, the facility was empty, with no dead or wounded, despite the victorious speeches of the Ukrainian side.
There were missile strikes on the Shebelya GPP near the village of Andreevka, Balakleya District. The Shebelya GPP is one of the few Ukrainian oil refineries that have survived to this day.
In Donbass, position fighting continues, with no significant advances by the sides.
The mopping-up of dacha settlements between Sirotino and Metelkino has been completed in Severodonetsk. The Ukrainian Armed Forces prevent the Russian Armed Forces from forcing the Seversky Donets near Belogorovka: Ukrainian Su-25 and army aviation operate on the forward positions.
The Lisichansk refinery is hit.
A company stronghold was taken on the outskirts of Toshkovka: the last AFU position in the village was taken.
The Ukrainian armed forces continue to build up their grouping of troops near Avdeevka: weapons and ammunition were delivered to Kurakhovo. Fresh AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radars were deployed to the area.
The AFU shelled Donetsk with heavy weapons, retaliatory strikes destroyed four platoons of Grad multiple rocket launchers and four platoons of M777 155mm howitzers. According to Patrick Lancaster, more than 400 shells were fired at Donetsk during the day.
In Zaporozhye direction artillery duels continue near Orekhovo and Gulyaypole. As a result of AFU shelling, a gas pipeline in Vasilievka was damaged. Arriving units of the 44th Army Brigade of the AFU conduct reconnaissance of the positions of the Russian army in Novoselidovka, Pavlovka, Vladimirovka, Nikolskoye, Egorovka, Prechistovka and Yevgenovka.
A number of strikes were carried out against facilities in Dnepropetrovsk region.
An ammunition depot in Sinelnikovo belonging to the 44th Army Brigade of the AFU was destroyed. The arsenal was formed in the interests of the brigade transferred from Zhytomyr Region, which strengthened the grouping of troops in the Zaporozhye direction.
An oil depot in Novomoskovsk was put out of action.
In Poltava region, at least five missile strikes were launched during the day against the territory of the Kremenchug oil refinery and other key facilities of the city.
The simultaneous removal of four oil facilities (the final destruction of the Kremenchuk refinery, strikes on the Shebelyn refinery, the Lisichansk refinery and the Novomoskovsk oil depot) indicates the desire to reduce the AFU's logistical capabilities in Donbass.
On the Krivoy Rog direction, the Russian Armed Forces carried out strikes on AFU facilities in the Zelenodolsk and Apostolovsk districts.
