Here are five ways to handle food cravings:
1. Look at your last meal! The odds are high that some thing in it triggered your craving.
2. Stop and check in with your body. Investigate and ask: What is your body really asking for?
3. Take a look at what you’re doing when the craving arises. Are you bored? Stressed? Tired? Consider what external factors could be influencing a push toward a certain food.
3. Drink a big glass of water. Hydrate your body and see if the craving subsides.
4. Go for a walk around the block. Sometimes all you need to do is physically remove ourselves from temptation and create a physiological shift.
5. If you know you have a few go-to junk foods that you crave on a regular basis, remove these from your home and replace them with upgraded versions that still scratch the itch but don’t load your body with toxins.
Eating well isn’t just a function of discipline and willpower.
