British Airways Dreamliner 787 nose gear COLLAPSES on the tarmac at Heathrow Airport injuring one crew member on the ground.
The incident happened while the plane - a passenger aircraft converted for CARGO transport - was being loaded.

Possible cause: an engineer did not 'lock out the nose gear properly', i.e. the vital piece of landing equipment could have folded itself up inside the plane.

What can disrupt airport operations and cause a real havoc?
A number of reasons.
1)Adverse weather. Airport can be shrouded in fog, RW can be flooded or airfield can be snowed in.
2)Airport employees going on strike. There will be nobody who will provide service to passengers and flights.
3)Drone attact. In 2018 Gatwick airport suffered a havoc as it was buzzed with a number of drones. It disrupted its operation completely.
4)Covid.Airport hubs were closed as coronovirus wreaked havoc.

I can't stand any advertisments. So,it will be short and only once.
Here are my textbooks for maintaining ICAO level.
A lot of pilots and ATCs in Ukraine have been reading up for the exam by these textbooks.

MAINTAIN YOUR LEVEL is a new one which has been published recently.

There is no point in what country you live and which kind of ICAO provider you will choose for the exam. ICAO requirements are the same everywhere.
If you are interested, write me)

Mile High Club - two people engaging in sexual activity at an altitude of no less than one mile high above the earth on an airplane.

Would you like to join the club?

Pilots are always pressed for time when some emergency breaks out on the board.

ATCs shouldn't bother the crew with the questions about number of passengers or any dangerous goods in case of emergency descent as the pilots are pressed for time to deal with their procedures.

“Hey pilots, it’s March 23rd and we just arrived from [Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport]. Very chilling to see so much of our fleet here in the desert.
If you are here to pick it up then the light must be at the end of the tunnel.
Amazing how fast it changed. Have a safe flight bringing it out of storage.”

Water-arch opens emergency exit hatch and deploys an overwing slide.

The Airbus A320 is fitted with two overwing exits on either side of the plane. To activate the exit from outside, you have to push a panel on the control lever and then exert pressure to force the control handle up and outwards.

When the water spray hit the side of the aircraft, the force of the water not only managed to push the panel on the control handle inwards, but it also forced the control lever up and out. Thus, the slide was instantly activated.

Cause: malfunction of a water turret (водяная турель/ ствол)

Accuracy vs. Precision

Accuracy (правильность измерений) is a measure of rightness or how close a measured value agrees with the correct value. An aircraft tool is accurate if it correctly reflects the size of the unit being measured.

Precision (прецизионность\ воспроизводимость измерений) is the measure of exactness. It refers to how closely each unit of measure agrees with another. A precise tool will get the same measurement each time.

It is important to note that just because an aircraft tool is more precise does not mean it is more accurate and accurate tools do not have to have the best precision. The best tools are those tools that have the precision for the job with a good enough accuracy.

In fact, airplane de-icing is a cumbersome and time-consuming task. In most cases it is done at a departure gate with workers spraying a chemical liquid over the plane. They do this while standing in cherry pickers mounted on trucks, which must be maneuvered around the plane. The procedure can take about 20 minutes.

To speed up the process and make it more efficient, airlines at various airports have begun installing huge gantries, frameworks where planes pull up and are sprayed by computer-controlled nozzles for about five minutes each.
The systems are built in Lulea, Sweden, by the De-icing System Group. They are now in operation at Standiford Airport in Louisville, at Stapleton International in Denver, and most recently at the new Franz Josef Strauss Airport in Munich, the first site in Europe with such a de-icer.

The gantry at Standiford cost $4.7 million. It is 70 feet tall and weighs 130 tons.
