Ethio-telecom use a hybrid network model of both own network and agent network for telebirr.

The distribution network mainly invloves Super Agent, Master Agent, and Agent (with distribution hierarchy for agent network).

• Super-Agent: A business - sometimes a bank, purchases electronic money from ethio-telecom wholesale and then resells it to agents, and monitor agents’ liquidity levels at all.
• Master Agent (Existing VC/Yimulu and EVD distributors): Recruit and train agents, manage agent's liquidity, and responsible to monitor and assure quality of agent's service.
• Agent: Agents register customer for mobile money services, deliver all mobile money services, and manage cash in and cash out.

Eyob “Joe” Mamo, the D.C. gas station magnate and real estate developer who once owns half of Washington D.C.'s Gas Stations now buys small stake in D.C. United soccer club, according to Washington business journal.

The team announced Monday that Mamo, the CEO and owner of the Springfield's Capitol Petroleum Group, would become the latest in a slew of new minority partners the soccer franchise has added in recent years.

D.C. United is an American professional soccer club based in Washington, D.C.

The Second China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened Sunday, unleashing new potential for cooperation between China and Africa.

The four-day event, held both online and offline, and themed "New Start, New Opportunities, and New Accomplishments," has attracted nearly 900 enterprises from about 40 African countries and China, according to the organizers.

The expo has a total exhibition area of 94,000 square meters this year, with Algeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, and Senegal the guest countries of honor.

The ECA has Issued an RFP for a new Telecommunications License new telecommunications License “B”, following the successful licensing process of license A in June 2021.

Adanech Abiebie has been unanimously nominated to become the first female mayor of Addis Ababa, for the next 5 years, marking the 36th mayor of Addis. She has been serving as the deputy mayor of the capital since August 2020.

Adanech was previously the Minister of the Ministry of Revenue and Customs Authority in Ethiopia. She was then confirmed as the first women attorney general in the history of Ethiopia. Continuing to make history, Adanech is now the first ever female mayor of Addis.

Three races in Wooster city, Ohio, aims to raise money for south Ethiopian region, Woliso, in collaboration with Bethel Agriculture, a non-profit organization that is working to establish the Bethel Environmental and Agricultural University and Training Center (BEAUTC) in Woliso.

Warren Dick, the president and director of Bethel Agriculture, organized running for Agricultural Resilience in Africa, in the hopes of raising $25,000 to construct two buildings in Woliso. They also aim to educate locals in the region on how to best cultivate land and produce for the community in a sustainable manner.

2021-09-28 16:48:17 Ethiopia’s Aid Package from the UK is Down from £240m in 2020-21 to a Budget of £107.5m in 2021-22

The 55% cut off aid from the UK in Ethiopia includes huge cuts to humanitarian aid, girls’ equality and climate, and is likely to remain in force for many years. The total amount of aid in 2020 was £14.4bn, of which £9bn was classified as bilateral aid. Ministers say Britain’s aid program will remain the 3rd largest in the world, and the cuts were forced on the government by the scale of the hit to the economy caused by Covid.
