CHANCERY NOTICE EXTRACT (CHN/CN/2021/019)It is believed that the so-called 'locutions' of a Catholic layperson named John Leary, have been accepted by some members of the faithful in the Archdiocese of Singapore as genuine divine revelations, leading them to act on the messages that he has published.
Leary, who is based in Rochester, New York, has detailed the messages he believes to be from Jesus, Mary and various saints, in talks and publications since 1993. However, a commission appointed by the Bishop of Rochester in 1999 unanimously found Leary's messages to be riddled with doctrinal errors and of human origin.
It is with urgency that the Archdiocese of Singapore publishes this reminder that John Leary's messages have not been found to be supernatural as he claims.
His messages also urge readers to "continue to refuse to take all vaccines, boosters, flu shots", claiming that these are lethal. This comes in direct opposition to guidance from Church authorities.
Catholics must be very careful in believing visions and messages which have not been approved by the Catholic Church, as this may distract people from genuine private revelations, lead them into unsafe exercises, bring private revelations into complete disrepute, and, worst of all, subtly lead some people out of the Church altogether.
Refer to the Chancery Notice for complete details.
