Maybe there are health and safety considerations given the type of work the gentleman was involved in. But you have to wonder if the company would have been so quick to sack a member of staff wearing a Sikh, Hindu, Jewish or Muslim symbol at work without trying to find some way to accommodate the worker's beliefs and their desire to wear such a symbol of faith.
