Focus not on yourself, but on the world around you

Many people use the second, less effective way of communicating. It's more appealing because everyone says "about me," "about me."
But the first way is more effective. People will reciprocate. Be interested in them, and they will become interested in you.
But there's a tricky thing. Your real thoughts are conveyed through your body language and your sound. Therefore, insincere interest will be noticed immediately. Communication will suffer from this.
