For what reason was it declared unfit for purpose? Before the new eyesore was built the Scottish Parliament reconvened here.

Fr. Hugh Mullan and Fr. Noel Fitzpatrick were recently declared "innocent" by the British state whose soldiers martyred them nearly half a century ago.
They are for us examples, for they are the kind of martyrs we should expect in this age. Not men rounded up and sent to Gulags or burned alive in the village church, as the Bolsheviks and Yugoslav Communists did, but priests performing their sacramental duties branded "extremists" and "gunmen" by the Liberal, secular state and then promptly shoved down the memory hole, their families and parishioners shunned and mocked as conspiracy theorists or dissidents. That is how the Liberal-democratic Order makes martyrs. Kill, justify, ignore, admit wrongdoing after all has been forgotten by the broad public.
This is the final cross of the Martyr which we must be ready to bear. The martyrs killed by democracy and liberalism will be forgotten by men, but held all the dearer by God. By the prayers of these blessed priests, may we be found worthy of such martyrdom!
