Sardor Usmanov:

" Some days ago I had an interesting meeting with students of the Ajou University in Tashkent. I was very much impressed with the penetrating motivation so obvious in their eyes.

My focal point was that our students need to learn to understand long-term trends rather than individual events in their fields of interest. Anyone can see events, but trends can be seen only by farsighted leaders.

Talking to students of architecture I asked them: “Have you ever thought about emerging trends in architecture in the years to come? Where is architecture moving?”

It’s important to know individual cases or events in architecture, but it’s more important to know that “green buildings” are emerging in the world. Environment-friendly technologies, roofs with green plantations are going to set trends. Another trend getting global is the return of ‘minimalism’. Architects of our age try to focus on the core of the design rather than overloaded decoration. More clarity and simplicity.

Our students should be able to grasp the directions in which new trends are moving and, if necessary, challenge their traditional thinking.

With such a forward-thinking mindset, our students will be more successful in their industries and predict what their consumers will prefer in the coming years.

We hope that the Ajou University in Tashkent, a new stage of Uzbek-South Korean partnership, will create an excellent platform for boosting forward-thinking of our students."
