The pie charts compare how much electricity was produced using | Alisher&Mukhammadali posts

The pie charts compare how much electricity was produced using five different energy sources (coal, oil, natural gas, hydro power, and nuclear power) in France twenty years apart, 1990 and 2010.

Overall, a quick glance at the graph shows that the use of nuclear energy to generate electricity had risen substantially by 2010, while the reverse can be said about the other forms of fuel.

The most noticeable growth in electricity generation was observed in the nuclear power sector. The amount of nuclear energy used to produce electricity grew by a half, reaching 67% in 2010. In contrast, virtually twice as little coal and oil were used for the production of electricity in France in the latter year as they were initially. Even more dramatic change was a sevenfold decrease in natural gas usage, which went down to a mere 4% in 2010. Finally, the proportion of hydro power – by far the least used energy form in electricity production in both years – shrank three times within two decades from its initial standing of 6%.
