• Found between 5° and 10° north & south of equator.
• Temperature is uniform throughout the year. Diurnal range of temperature is small and so is the annual range.
• Heavy precipitation, between 60 inches and 100 inches, and well distributed throughout the year.
• Vegetation - equatorial vegetation comprises a multitude of evergreen trees. e.g.- Mahogony, Ebony, greenheart, cabinet woods, dyewoods.
• REGIONS - Lowlands of Amazon, The Congo, Malaysia and the East Indies.
