This is what “fascism” really means in practice: Order, personal responsibility, value of nation and family, tightly policed borders, rewards for morality and adamant rejection of degeneracy.

Do you see why a certain kind of people view “fascism” as the ultimate unforgivable ideology?

As far as “Socialism,” it can only work under the system described above, where the members of the nation view themselves as part of an extended family, are industrious, empathetic, responsible, and willfully put more into the system than they take out of it.

The word “socialism” has been successfully demonized by the current System to mean that the most contemptuous, least industrious, irresponsible members of a society are allowed to leech off those who work the hardest.

It doesn’t have to be this way for either word.
