The statue had a political meaning and represented the power of the Duke who had “cut off the head” of the Republic.

Medusa symbolises the Republican experiment and the snakes coming out of her body are the discords that have always affected democracy.

Cellini, one of the greatest goldsmiths of the Renaissance period.

No direct heat until the very end. Pile all your coals on one side and wait till you can hold your hand 2 inches over the grill for 2 seconds, then load the steaks on the other half of the grill and cover it w the vent open a bit. After the steaks are browned on both sides and firm, move them over the coals to sear each side for a minute or two. Better to undercook than overcook because you can always throw them back on but you can’t unfuck them.

Finally, cover w foil for 10-15 minutes to bring out the juices.
