They did not lose their homes due to drug addiction or mental health issues - addicts don't typically have the self control to hold on to a car when they could sell it for a lot of heroin, and severely mentally ill people usually can't get together the money to afford a car or RV in the first place - much less keep it running.
These people are homeless because of the rent crisis."
