Anichess Official Announcements is the developer's own bulletin board for its web3 chess game, a project built by Animoca Brands in partnership with Chess.com. Every post comes from the team itself: nothing here is fan discussion or third-party commentary.
Two content types dominate. The first is versioned release notes, numbered updates like v0.13 through v0.15, that list concrete gameplay changes: a "Lite" mode limiting each side to one spell, black/white selection in friend matches, ELO display against opponents, bot fallback when no human opponent is found, and a running list of bug fixes. The second is tournament and rewards messaging: multi-day cups with cash and USDT prize pools split by placement (a $10K Bybit-sponsored bracket required creating an account, completing KYC, and holding a $100 balance to enter), weekly leaderboard points that move from Processing to Claimable and expire if not claimed within a week, and a free NFT mint (Anichess Ethernals, 960 supply on Ethereum) gated by referrals and match counts. A handful of posts cover appearances at web3 conferences such as TOKEN2049 and partner shout-outs with Pudgy Penguins.
The writing is dense with emoji, prize breakdowns, and calls to action, and it assumes the reader is already inside the ecosystem: Discord for support tickets, the Anichess website for actual play, Chess.com for the rating ladder, and in one case a named exchange for KYC. There is no explanation of the game's rules or spells for a newcomer, and no discussion of the token or points economy beyond claim deadlines.
This is useful strictly as an operational feed for people already playing Anichess who don't want to miss a patch, a tournament window, or a points-claim deadline. It is not a place to learn what the game is or to read independent opinion about it, and a reader wary of exchange sign-ups tied to a game's tournament rewards should note that some of the biggest prize pools ran through a partnered crypto exchange rather than the game platform itself.
