Snowboarder Tim Blakey thanked Apple for the emergency call feature on his iPhone, which saved his life after he fell into a crevasse by calling for rescuers in time.

He was snowboarding on a glacier near Zermatt, Switzerland, and failed to notice a crevasse in the snow on one of the descents. After flying about 5 meters down, the snowboarder fell on a fragile snowy ledge, making him afraid to move.

Blakey managed to reach for his iPhone, which had only 3 percent of its charge, and called emergency services by pressing the power button five times in a row. The smartphone immediately sent a text message with the iPhone owner's location to emergency services.

LG Display is working with Apple on bendable OLED panels protected by thin glass rather than polyimide.

According to the publication, Apple is preparing a large 17-inch OLED panel with 4K resolution for HP. It will fold down to 11 inches.

We shouldn't expect a new category of foldable laptops for Apple anytime soon. At least, if the company does decide to launch, it won't be until 2026 or 2027. Open / Comment
