The defender of the Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic has been playing for the NBA for less than two years. During this period, the Slovenian has achieved brilliant results. Luka exceeded all expectations and even broke Michael Jordan's record.

Good Player
Doncic is setting such incredible achievements as if it is the 1960s and 1970s, the eras of the dominance of individuals like Oscar Robertson and Karim Abdul-Jabbar. By the way, Luka surpasses these outstanding basketball players with enviable constancy.

In December 2019, in the NBA regular-season game, the basketball player scored more than 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. Luka surpassed legendary Michael Jordan's record. Jordan surprised everyone with the longest streak. He managed to score 20/5/5. To clarify: Doncic at that time was only 20 years old, while Jordan was 27 years old at the peak of his career.

Michael Jordan and LeBron James are the obvious favorites when it comes to the public’s opinion on the best and most influential players in the history of the NBA, but basketball has evolved into a world-class sport thanks to the efforts and talent of other players as well. Many of them are now mostly forgotten, but their contribution is hard to overestimate.

Bill Russell

One of the most transformative defenders in history, Bill Russell played in the 1960s for the Boston Celtics and he was the leading force that brought the franchise 11 championships in 13 years.

Not only does Bill boast astonishing statistics and an impressive average of 22.5 rebounds per game, but he changed the view of defensive playing forever. He demonstrated the potential of blocking the offensive shots, which at the time was a visionary breakthrough.

Oscar Robertson

Combining mind-blowing career statistics and influential changes to the way the free agency works, Oscar Robertson is another player from the 1960s. He was nicknamed “the Big O” and played for the Cincinnati Royals and the Milwaukee Bucks.

2020-11-27 13:36:59 Will the Fight Between Ferguson and Khabib Take Place on the Sixth Try?

Dana White revealed that the most awaited fight could still take place. However, there are several conditions. Fans are already languishing in conjecture whether the fight between Ferguson and Khabib will take place on the sixth try.

Bread and Circuses
After the third fight attempt between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson failed, the president of the UFC drops a phrase to journalists that he would never again deal with such a disastrous business.
The last attempt, as it seemed then, was already in 2020. But it was unsuccessful due to the pandemic. Actually, after Tony's defeat to Justin Gaethje, only the most optimistic fans could dream of this fight, and, as it turned out, you always have to believe, especially when it depends on such a grasping and stubborn person like Dana White. And what's more important when it comes to money. And not just money, but really big money.

What will happen in the spring?

2020-11-26 15:03:53 Valuable players of the Heat/Lakers

The 2020 NBA playoffs have been great so far. The last year champs the Toronto Raptors were outplayed by the Boston Celtics. The Philadelphia 76yers failed to progress beyond the first round. The Conference finals were won by the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers. Those two are in the middle on their rival with a record of 3-1 in favor of the Lakers. The list of the most valuable players from each team is presented below.

Miami Heat
It won`t be an exaggeration to say that the 3rd game in the finals was won by the Heat with Jimmy Butler being an undisputable MVP with 40 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists in a 115-104 game. The Heat lost the 4th game, but it was 102-96, which is quite close. 22 points were scored by Butler, 21 scored from Tyler Herro, 17 and 15 subsequently were scored by Duncan Robinson and Bam Adebayo.

Both Adebayo and Goran Dragic are suffering from injuries. The first one is being seriously slowed by his strained neck, and Dragic remained on the bench for the 3rd game in a row due to his torn ligament. You all know that Heat won`t fully unleash their potential without Dragic on the court. Don`t forget about Jae Crowder. He`s not only a good 3-point shooter, but he`s good at defense which may play its role.

What about the Los Angeles Lakers?

The fact that we love hockey doesn`t mean that it cannot be improved. There are a bunch of recommendations and guidelines from hockey fans, created for a purpose of getting rid of annoying things and adding new things to this fascinating sport.

Globalization
This is one of the first things in fans` demands regarding hockey and NHL in particular. The possibility of expanding towards Europe and Asia is a perfect step for hockey to become more known worldwide and start generating much bigger revenues than it does today. The steps are being made; a good example is the NFL Global Series, which started in 2017 and was played in Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, and Germany.

There`s clearly a possibility to increase its popularity at home by funding youth programs like USA Hockey or Youth Canada and also paying attention to the National Women Hockey League. Hockey has proved its significance and can surely be played outside Canada and by any social group.

Players' protection
This one goes hand in hand with the previous. The NHL and similar leagues have to improve the security means to reduce damage caused to players during the game, thus making the sport safer and more friendly for everyone, not just for tough bearded goons.

Of course, anyone would benefit from several improvements. One of them is the bigger penalties for headshots. They are a part of the game, but its threat leaves no other choice than to reduce its rate to the minimum. Concussion problems are popular among hockey players and there`s one good way to protect against it – increase the punishment for headshots.
The same implies to shoulder protection. Softening it won`t make a huge deal for the gameplay but will definitely improve players` security and reduce the trauma rate.

Which changes would fans want in gameplays and season duration?

2020-11-24 14:37:48 The Tampa Bay Lightning has been so close to the Stanley Cup Award for several years, but, unfortunately, the team failed to succeed each time.

They last made it to the finals in 2015, where Tampa was one step closer to victory, but that was a long time ago. The team is creating a new history now
.
2015 Finals

In 2015, Tampa had already lost two of its main stars of the past era – Vincent Lecavalier, and Martin St. Louis. However, a new generation had already appeared – Steven Stamkos, Victor Hedman, Ondřej Chambers, Nikita Kucherov, and Tyler Johnson.

Nevertheless, youth and enthusiasm could not cope with the experienced of Chicago. It seemed then that the Lightning would become champions, if not in a year, then in two.

2020-11-23 17:10:00 Secrets of Success of the Shortest Player in NBA History

Once upon a time, «Muggsy» Bogues pissed off Michael Jordan himself. Moreover, his height did not stop him from achieving great success. Let's talk about the secrets of the success of the shortest player in NBA history.

Noticeable Midget
Muggsy Bogues`s height did not prevent him from leaving a significant mark in the history of world basketball. Bogues is in the top 25 of the best assistants of all time in the NBA (6726 assists in his career), ahead of such legends as Kobe Bryant, Jerry West, Scottie Pippen.
Bogues was very short (height - 5 ft 3 in, weight - 136 lb.) for this sport. He began playing for high school in his native Baltimore, after which he entered Wake Forest University. In the NCAA, the point guard spent four years having scored 14.8 points. Assists and interceptions could not fail to attract the attention of NBA scouts.

Moreover, Muggsy confirmed his importance at the World Championships in Spain, where the US team beat the USSR in the final (87:85). In Washington, Muggsy spent just a year, after which he moved to the Charlotte Hornets.

.
Once upon a time, no one believed in Gretzky's exchange. But with the salary cap, star transfers are much less frequent. Let's see which NHL stars could spend their entire careers on the same team
.
Brad Marchand & Patrice Bergeron – Boston Bruins
Bergeron, 35, and Marchand, 32, have played for Boston their entire careers. They have been the epitome of the Bears' success over the past decade and a half.
They will play for the Bruins until at least 2022 when Bergeron's contract ends. There is almost no doubt that Patrice will not be allowed to go to another club.

Sidney Crosby – Pittsburgh Penguins
From the first days in Pittsburgh, Sid was taken care of by Mario himself, who also spent his entire career there. In the future, Sidney will certainly, become one of the leaders of the Penguins. Moreover, Crosby became a legend during his lifetime, which Pittsburgh will not let go anywhere.

2020-11-19 20:30:49 Loudest 2020 NHL signings

The original schedule of the NHL free-agent market opening has changed due to the pandemic. Even so, several notable signings have already taken place over the week since the market opened. The loudest of them are presented below.

Alex Pietrangelo has signed a long-term deal
A 30-year old defender is one of the biggest stars in the NFL at the moment. He`s been playing for the St-Louis Blues throughout his career. He made a huge contribution to the Blues obtaining the Stanley Cup in 2019 for first the time in history. But now it`s time for Alex to move on. Thus, he`s signed a 7-year $61.6 million deal with the Knights. The signing of this year`s top free agent is a huge step for Vegas, though a cap might become a problem in the long term as Alex’s mastery might decline in the years ahead.
