“I think in our model we have very important things, the first is to have the right people and I think we have the right people. Then it is to have the right players that can compete, challenge and understand their role within the team, and you need quality in front of goal great and physicality - you need a lot of things in this game to do that.

“It is extremely difficult to find that thin balance with the players because in recruiting you can have the best intentions but then the player has to come here, fit in and get that chemistry with the manager, teammates, staff and the country. It is not easy at all, so credit to everybody that makes those decisions.”

Michal’s contribution in our FA Youth Cup run was vital, netting twice at the Emirates Stadium - a last-minute winner in the quarter-final against Cambridge United and a superb free kick in the semi-final to help us beat Manchester City.

"Playing for the club I’ve always loved and watched growing up, hopefully it will be the first of many contracts."
