Could school-based assessment be open to biasness and good relationships between students and teachers? These assessments are not new, they have been around for years and gone through refinements and quality assurance and alignment.

Alina Amir, Co-founder of Arus Academy says, "I understand the worry but I think that we as a society need to acknowledge that our teachers are professionals, that they are capable of designing and running assessments that meet the needs of the students they teach. This trust is important because our teachers are our biggest ally.

"They need to know that we trust their judgment, that they are supported and acknowledged that they have the students' best interest in mind. So we need to put higher expectations on them just as we do for other professions and I think this is the best way to start."
