In this episode of @thehumanupgradepodcast , you’ll learn about shamanism, “spiritual minimalism” and how traditional healing arts connect so profoundly to the natural world. This conversation also explores distinct themes of consciousness, the soul, and deep respect for plant medicine and Ayahuasca ceremony.

The guest, Shaman Jorge Hachumak, is a Peruvian of Spanish descent who’s made a winding journey into shamanism as a healer. After receiving a European education, he became a practitioner of Chinese Qigong in old Lima’s (Peru) China Town. After a successful career in tai chi competition, he worked with elderly patients in hospitals in Northern Peru.

Does suffering make you a better person?

In this episode of @thehumanupgradepodcast , you’ll find out about the relevance of shamanism in a modern world and why high performers are turning toward shamanic practices to get ahead.

The show’s guest, Manvir Singh, Ph.D., is an anthropologist at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse, France. He studies universal or near-universal cultural practices, including music, shamanism, and witchcraft. For the past seven years, he’s conducted ethnographic fieldwork in Indonesia.

This conversation gets into:
- shamanism in general
- the cultural significance of shamans
- how shamanic practices have made their way into modern culture
- why humans think they need shamans—or similar “magic” or “other” beings

I fell for the vegan trap in 2004. I have just finished business school, and I’ve worked so hard to lose that hundred pounds, but it wasn’t coming off.

So I went vegan. Sure enough, I got more energy. I did not know that it was because the omega-six plant fats were disrupting my mitochondrial membrane, which caused a temporary increase in my thyroid hormone, which gave me more energy.

As the lack of protein, the omega-six fats, the lectins, the oxalate, and the phytic acid wreaked their havoc on my immune system and my energy production, I started to feel worse.

But I had already learned that being vegan gave me energy, so I doubled down on it and sprouted green smoothies even harder.

A lot of people don’t know it, but my first book was not The Bulletproof Diet. It was a book on fertility called The Better Baby Book.

It took five years of research because the mother of my children today was infertile 17 years ago, and it was something that we had to hack.

One thing that is abundantly clear from all of that research is that the human fertility rate is plummeting rapidly because of the things we have done to our soil and food.

Children are an incredible blessing, and they will teach you all sorts of things you probably didn’t want to know about yourself.

If you are lucky enough to be fertile and afford to have children, count yourself lucky.

That’s not actually what it said.

But if you use pandemic logic, that’s what it means.

This brand new study says the same thing that Functional Medicine docs and healthy people everywhere have been saying for 2.5 years (that being obese makes you more likely to be sick).

Look - I weighed 300 pounds. It sucked. I used to get sick all the time. I don’t anymore.

A few things to do:
- Intermittent Fasting (Fast This Way is my epic book to teach you.)
- Stop eating seed oils
- Dim the lights at night or use @truedark sleep glasses

Be well - and let’s not force others to do things we want them to do.

Steak (seared!), broccoli and sweet potato cooked perfectly—all at once and all done at the same time.

It’s not a dream of your childhood Easy Bake Oven. And it’s not visions of Impossible Burger.

In this episode of @thehumanupgradepodcast, @bravahome VP and professional chef Travis Rea joins the show to explain how it’s possible that infrared light waves will change your entire approach to food.

Repeat after me: this has nothing to do with what happens when you socially isolate people for a year…or create economic devastation and loneliness. Let’s put the laws in place to make sure this abuse of power never happens again.

Post-C0v1D hair loss tips for men

Hair loss can affect both men and women, often due to stress, hormones, poor diet, or chronic inflammation.

Here are five hacks for hair loss:

1. Do red light therapy: Red light therapy has been shown in studies to improve hair growth.

2. Use adaptogens: Adaptogens such as Rhodiola and ginseng help normalize stress hormone levels that can contribute to hair loss.

3. Meditate: Another way to combat the stress hormones that can cause hair loss is with meditation or deep breathing.

4. Check your hormones: Out-of-balance hormones can cause hair loss. Get a full hormone panel, including thyroid hormones.

5. Up your nutrition: Your hair needs minerals and vitamins to grow properly. Make sure you’re eating lots of nutrient-dense foods like grass-fed beef and low-toxin vegetables, and supplement with vitamins and minerals where necessary. Some of the most important ones for hair are zinc, copper, and the B vitamins.

There is a long-standing tradition of bad people swapping medical regulator jobs for high-paying jobs in Big Pharma.

Want to bet it happens again? After all, Big Pharma owes him big time for funding illegal virus gain of function research, then stripping away basic medical freedom in exchange for forced medication that led to $87 billion in profits.
