Discretionary trading for me is the sole problem behind failing traders. Algorithms trade better than humans because they have no discretion, they follow the plan regardless of what is happening.

Once you adapt to that sort of thinking you then unlock a more disciplined approach to your trading because all you need to do is MANAGE YOUR RISK AND FOLLOW YOUR PLAN.
Discretion means to give leeway to something if there are different circumstances and that is what causes traders to up risk and even modify positions,
