Queensland Election: One Nation tanks, Labor almost certainly | Australia Central|News & History

Queensland Election: One Nation tanks, Labor almost certainly victorious.

Todays election in Queensland doesn't appear to be good news for Pauline Hanson's One Nation. While the results are not yet fully counted so far One Nation has won 8.3% - down from 13.7% in 2017. This even more shocking when you remember that they once won 22% of the Queensland vote and that the state is considered a One Nation stronghold.

Labor meanwhile have surged to 38%, up nearly 5% since the last election. They currently have 47 seats, which is the amount you need for a majoirty.

The Greens have also won a new seat - South Brisbane - from Labor, giving them 2 seats out of the 93 seat parliament.
