1. Apple has suspended sales of its products in Russia joining a long list of companies such as ExxonMobil, Ford, Nike, Walt Disney and Warner Bros. Conversely, Gazprom (who own the exclusive rights to Russian gas export by pipeline) announced plans for a massive pipeline to China. We’re starting to see a global trend where countries are condemning Russia with sanctions on everything except energy imports

2. Also on Russia Today (today?) the Russian government will spend up to 1 trillion rubles to buy shares of companies that have been sanctioned. Given how much the Ruble has devalued, this is the equivalent of Slytherin getting house points anytime before Harry pulls his bullshit at the end of the year

3. PSG Group is going private. It will unbundle its stakes in the likes of Curro, Stadio, Kaap Agri to shareholders and delist from the JSE. Here’s hoping this won’t get Messi.

4. After a year an a half of no reward (just like their in-store card) for Woolworths shareholders, they’ve brought back the dividends! At a payout ratio of ~60% of headline earnings, Woolies seem like they may be staying away from any more terrible foreign acquisitions for now
