I worshipped false idols. I did. I put certain musicians on pedestals for too long.
But no more.
Any musician who played segregated shows over the last two years sent a loud and clear message.
A message some of us will not forget.
Though many seem to have already forgotten.
That’s as it should be I guess.
But not for me. I choose to remember the new world that opened up to me. A world where what you do says more about you than what you say.
