Balance is a type that finds a "balance" between more than one type. Some are a balance of two types which could benefit a Beyblade's performance, such as a combination of Defense and Attack or Stamina and Defense, but most Beys classified as Balance Types are a mix of all three types.

There is at least one major flaw with Balance-types, however. This is that since this class of Beyblade tends to be fairly well-rounded in every category, they don't have any particular strong suit to counter any other particular type of bey. Because of this, Stamina-types are generally the best bet against Balance-types, since the latter tends not to be aggressive attackers that will upset a Stamina-type's stability.

Death and Hades are generally the best Balance Fusion Wheels, due to their inherent decent defense and smash attack. Metal Face Bolts of any kind can be helpful, like any other combo. Balance-types generally use mid-height Spin Tracks, such as 125-145 heights, but other heights can be useful in certain combos. Performance Tips like CS and WD are good for use on most all Balance-type combos, but with these beys a wide variety of tips can be used, so long as they have sufficient stability and Stamina. Defense is a type of Beyblade that focuses on not being knocked out of the stadium, and finds a chance to cast a deadly counter-attack. Specifically built to counter Attack-types, Defense-oriented Beyblades tend to have only moderate Stamina, but are built to be able to deflect or tank attacks without losing much spin power.

Defense Types need a lot of weight so that they can counter-attacks. Adding a Metal Face Bolt, a Metal God Chip or a Metal Chip Core helps by adding some extra weight. Any Metal Fight Defense-type Beyblade can be improved by using a heavy Energy Ring like Kerbecs, Bull, Jupiter, Cygnus or Aquario. Good Defense wheels are almost always heavy and round, and they include but are not limited to: Twisted (Basalt), Diablo, Duo, Earth and Libra (Pre-HWS wheel).

Defense-type combos like MF-H Twisted (Basalt) Bull TH170CS use high Spin Tracks not only to smash down on their opponents, but also to protect their own Fusion Wheel from lower beys. Other good Spin Tracks for defense include 230, GB145, TR145, C145 and BD145. Defense tips have high friction and/or a hemispherical shape, but mostly the former. Recommended Defense tips are: CS, RDF, RB, RS, RSF, and MB.

Defense Beyblades using the aforementioned parts can, for the most part, counter Attack-types, though the former is not invulnerable. Defense-types usually only have only moderate Stamina, allowing Stamina-types to beat Defense-types often in sleep-outs. It's worth noting that many Defense-types have enough Attack to knock Stamina types around though, so they can occasionally defeat Stamina-types, though unlikely. Overall, building Defense-type Beyblades is not easy, because perhaps more than any other type, every part counts.

Defense has been associated with three colors: blue in the Original Series and Takara Tomy Metal Saga, yellow in the Hasbro Metal Saga, and green in the Burst Series. Open / Comment

Stamina (Previously called Endurance or Survival in the Original Series) is a typing in Beyblade that refers to Beyblades that battle by taking many hits and continuing to spin. These Beyblades usually have tips with minimal contact to the stadium and/or free-spinning Parts to lower friction. Stamina types are most characterized by their reliance on Outward Weight Distribution to keep necessary momentum to spin for long times, even on more mobile set-ups. Stamina types are typically strong against Defence types as they can outlast them without suffering much damage. Stamina types tend to be weak against Attack types as their low friction, generally low protection, and in the case of Burst, low burst resistance makes them easier to Knock Out or Burst.

When constructing a pure Stamina type Bey, You should be looking for these qualities, plus some advice to keep in mind:

A tip in the shape of a Cone or Ball, which limit points of contact with the stadium floor.
A tip made from a material with a low friction coefficient such as Metal or POM.
A Weight Disk, Attack Ring, Wheel, Layer, and/or Disk with most of the material out towards the outside.
An Attack Ring, Wheel, or Layer that's very smooth and round to help reduce the loss of spin on Contact.
Preferably a free spinning tip, especially one connected to a Bearing.
Most of the surfaces should be smooth to reduce Air Resistance.
A free spinning ring around the tip can allow for longer spin times while in precession.
A narrow sharp tip will be unstable and make the combo fall over easily
Zombies are a popular sub-typing for Stamina Types seen in Plastic and Burst Beyblade play, they utilize Opposite Spin and High Life After Death to Out Spin opponents while at low rotational speeds. Open / Comment

Attack is one of three main types of Beyblades. Attack Type Beys are known for their quick speed and hard-hitting attacks, as well as having a rather poor Stamina. In every Beyblade series (except Beyblade Burst Turbo and Beyblade Burst Surge), the main protagonists, Tyson Granger, Gingka Hagane, Zyro Kurogane, Valt Aoi, Dante Koryu, Hyuga Hizashi and Bel Daizora along with the former antagonists Ryuga, Sakyo Kurayami, and Arthur Peregrine are widely known for using Attack Types. The goal for Attack Types are to defeat the opposing Beyblade by either depleting all of its Stamina or by forcing a knockout (KO), sending the opponent flying out of the stadium. They must accomplish this in a very short amount of time, since Attack Types heavily rely on makery-fast Blade Bases (Plastics), Running Cores (HMS), or Performance Tips (MFB) with little stamina. Attack Types also tend to use Attack Rings (Plastics and HMS) or Fusion Wheels (MFB) designed with spikes and protrusions throughout for a violent appearance in order to deal the most damage to the opponent.

Due to this, Attack Types generally dominate Stamina-types because despite their inherent impressive Stamina, the latter is usually very lightweight and thus easy to KO. Though Attack is one of the three main types in the metagame, they are not usually seen in tournaments as often as Defense and Stamina-types.

Another disadvantage for Attack Types is that many wheels have dangerously high recoil, which can result in their own demise due to self-KO. Recoil can be lowered by using a Metal Face Bolt (preferably a Metal Face 2 with the heavy combination Open / Comment

This knowledge can also be invaluable in identifying the parts used in the customization of an opponent's Beyblade during inspection before a match. Below is a simple description of each of the basic types and their characteristics

Beyblade Top Types ;-

Every top belongs to one of four combat categories (called Types), based on its primary battle strength. During battle, the Type Affinity of the competing Beys will determine how efficiently they battle each other, with the one holding an advantage effectively neutralizing the battle tactics of the other.

Type Affinity ;-

All Beyblades Types typically share a Type Affinity (Japanese: タイプ相性) with one another via their Type classification. This determines their overall advantage (Japanese: 有利ゆうり) in a match-up depending on their customization in comparison to their opponent's.

Type Counters ;-

Players that deploy Beyblades with countering types to that of their opponent's increase their chances of victory. It's important for Bladers to consider their Bey's Type when devising their strategy as the appropriate Type can counter your opponent's Beyblade enabling your Bey to fight more efficiently.

Traditionally, The Attack counters , The Stamina , The Stamina Counters , The Defence and The Defence Counters The attack. However, The Balance differs from the other three Types in the regard that these Beyblade tops typically improve upon the weaknesses of the other three
