The govt has set a ceiling price for Covid-19 self-test kits, starting Sept 5: Retail (RM19.90), Wholesale (RM16). Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says Putrajaya will look into giving free kits to B40 households.

MOH assures it's working to vaccinate all teachers and school staff, ahead of school reopenings in Oct. 96.5% of teachers have received their first jab, while 83.5% have gotten both doses.

Selangor MB Amirudin Shari has promised to postpone the state’s decision to degazette the Kuala Langat North Reserve Forest until all issues raised are clarified.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Harun has denied reports that he rejected 15 motions calling for his removal from office. He says he forwarded them to Deputy Speaker Rashid Hasnon to avoid a conflict of interest.

PM Ismail Sabri is under quarantine, after coming into close contact with a Covid-19 patient. As such, he skipped today’s swearing-in of new Ministers & Deputy Ministers at Istana Negara.

MoF will announce its pre-2022 Budget statement soon for the first time in history, ahead of the tabling of the Budget slated for end Oct. MoF will invite all stakeholders for their inputs.

Putrajaya will speed up Covid-19 vaccinations in 6 states, to reach a 50% full vaccination rate by Sept. They are: Perak (46.5%), Terengganu (46.2%), Johor (44.9%), Kedah (43.2%), Kelantan (43.1%), and Sabah (37.1%).

Terengganu's tourism sector will re-open on Sept 1 to fully vaccinated individuals, namely resorts, hotels, homestays & lodges. Water sports, like snorkeling and diving, will resume.

Msia reported another record high of 24,599 Covid-19 cases. The death toll exceeded 15,000, with a record 393 deaths today.

Nearly 60% of adults, or nearly 14 million people, have received 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. 80%, or nearly 19 million, received at least 1 dose.

PM Ismail Sabri and PH agreed to work together to strengthen Parliament's role, and for Cabinet to transparently address Covid-19. PH Chair Anwar Ibrahim says PH will "not complicate" a confidence vote for the PM when tabled in Parliament.

PH has invited other Opposition parties to join the coalition, or work with them for GE15 under a "big tent" principle mooted by PH's Presidential Council.

Sabah received the first batch of the single-dose CanSino Covid-19 vaccine (53,000 doses). Sabah is set to get +500,000 vaccine doses this week, which also includes Pfizer & Sinovac.

The Jaringan Prihatin programme launched in May for the B40 will be extended until Sept 30. It enables individuals to get RM180 or RM300 for purchasing a smartphone or broadband internet plan.

The US FDA has granted its first full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. Previously, the shot was only approved for emergency use.

Newly-appointed PM Ismail Sabri says he won't give Cabinet posts to Opposition MPs as he's not forming a unity govt. Instead, he told reporters the MPs may join the National Recovery Council & the Special Committee on Covid-19, to address the pandemic.

Dewan Negara President Rais Yatim says the PM should hold a vote of confidence to prove his legitimacy, and to avoid another leadership crisis.

Private hospitals in the Klang Valley will no longer serve as public vaccination centres by the end of this month. APHM says select private hospitals will provide private Covid-19 jabs instead.

At least 13 million Msians (approx. 40% of the population) are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. 78% have received 1 dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The King decreed that the newly appointed PM must face a confidence vote in Parliament, saying it will be important to prove their legitimacy.

MUDA withdrew its judicial review to compel former home minister Hamzah Zainudin to decide on its appeal to be registered as a political party. They'll be filing a new challenge later.

A record 22,242 new Covid-19 infections were reported today. Selangor had the highest with 6,858, followed by Sabah (2,413), Penang (1,867), and Kedah (1,852).
