Stem cell and biomaterials engineering lab is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral research scientist with expertise in tissue engineering, stem cell biology, iPSC differentiation and 3D tissue modeling to join the group.
Job description :
The open position offers an exciting opportunity to develop 3D tissues that model human head and neck cancers, musculoskeletal tissues, including skeletal muscle, cartilage, and bone, skin diseases (Keloid), adipose tissue homeostasis, and pancreatic beta cells differentiation of patient-derived stem cells.The candidate will also participate in active collaborations with medical doctors from our Soonchunhyang University-affiliated hospitals. In these studies, we will also recreate 3D stem cell niche or diseased pathological microenvironments with 3D printing technologies using tissue-specific stiffness matching biomaterials, focusing on 3D mechanotransduction. These 3D disease models will be used to validate its potential as drug screening templates to test known drugs that target disease relevant pathways, and to perform high throughput screens for new compounds.
Required qualifications :
Prospective applicants should have a Ph.D., MD/PhD, MD or equivalent degree with relevant experience in tissue engineering, stem cell biology, hPSC experience and 3D tissue modeling.
Prior experience in biomedical engineering, microfabrication, immunology, stem biology, human genetics and computational biology is preferred.
Experience in processing of clinical tissue samples and culture of primary human cells, high throughput screening, microfluidics, single cells RNAseq and computational analysis, confocal microscopy, Crispr gene modification, FACS and 3D printing would be advantageous.
Candidates will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary collaborations including engineers, biologists, clinicians and supervision of technical staff.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills and must be able to function independently, think critically and creatively and be technically innovative, as well as participating as part of a dynamic team.
