During the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet army trained suicide dogs to destroy enemy tanks.
Hungry dogs were taught that food could be found under a mock-up of a fighting vehicle. In combat conditions the trained animals were bundled with TNT and an explosive device and released under approaching tanks, where the dogs were to die.
