In July 1984, in San Diego City, 41-year-old James Oliver Huberty told his wife that he must have a "mental problem".

He tried to make an appointment at a neurosis clinic, but there was no call back - and Huberty went off the rails. Telling his wife he was going on a manhunt, he drove to the nearest McDonald's and began methodically shooting at customers and employees. In 77 minutes, until a sniper shot him, Huberty killed 21 people and wounded 19.
