The record holder for the most expensive artefact of World War II is the armoured Mercedes Benz 770k, which belonged to Adolf Hitler. After the war, the car ended up in the hands of car dealer Michael Frelich. The new owner studied archival documents and photographs and proved that it was this parade Mercedes that the leader of the Third Reich travelled in. After 1945, the car ended up in Austria, later in Las Vegas, before being bought by a businessman from Munich.
