2021-07-16 16:44:38 Jumping spiders are genius! Besides their prodigious ability to jump, as the name suggests, they can also tell the difference between motions coming from living and non-living objects.

This might not look like a big deal to you, but remember how dogs heedlessly chase their own tails, or cats pounce at furniture for no apparent reason. Can we be sure they can always distinguish between the animate and inanimate?

2021-07-15 16:07:27 It's hard to recognise a common goldfish in this bloated ichthyic monstrosity but that's what happens if the tiny dweller of home aquariums around the world is released into the wild. Once it gets into a nearby pond or lake - often through sewage system after being toilet flushed by unscrupulous owners - the innocent-looking fishie turns into a real bully and hooligan wreaking chaos on the food chain where it doesn't belong.

Check out this timeline of the settling of North America. I'd say it pretty much covers it. High resolution PDF

2021-07-14 08:27:04 Hello everyone

I'm here with a short announcement. On August 7, I'm finally taking the IELTS exam, an event I've been postponing for far too long. And I had an idea to start a second channel dedicated to IELTS Writing tasks, which, admittedly, I've been working on tough because writing was never my strong suit. But hey, there's nothing tough work and practice can't fix, or at least improve.

On the channel I plan to share latest sample tasks, my responses to them with corrections and improvements, as well as tips on completing this part of the exam.

Perhaps you took the exam before or are planning to do so in the future. Either way, I'll be glad to see you here https://t.me/skillful_writing

Abdul Kalam once said, "If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun."

And then someone, apparently stocking an awful lot of wisdom in their head, rephrased it, "No bees, no honey; no work, no money."

And here's what I say, "Toil and sweat, earn the bread."
