Former Tesla energy chief launches his own startup
Cunal Girotra, who was Tesla's head of energy until February 2020
officially launches Lunar Energy, a startup that aims to ease the transition to full home electrification.
plans to release its first product by the end of the year.
It will be a home battery system that will control energy loads and make a home its own power plant.
The idea is to take energy from the grid when needed, store energy from home solar panels or wind turbines when possible, and then
throw the extra energy back into the grid for sale.
