This year, new SPACs (Special-Purpose Acquisition Company) were launched in the U.S. for
a total of $12 billion.
And in 2021, that number was
at $106 billion.
If we
look by year, SPAC's IPO capital raised was:
2014: $2 billion 2015: $4
2016: $3 billion 2017: $10
2018: $11 billion 2019: $14
2020: $83 billion 2021: $163
That is, this year could easily end
at 2019 levels.
