With the Ethereum Merge, the miners have been migrating their devices to other networks and Callisto Network has been one of the most chosen which caused the network hashrate to peak to an all time high of 20 Th/s.

The blockchain protocol adjusted the difficulty to maintain a 15-second block time, as it was designed, causing the difficulty to reach absolute record levels.

A couple of hours ago the average block time was 4 minutes and the blockchain is stabilizing at the time of writing and will continue to do so over the next few hours.

We expect some perturbation during the next days while the entire mining ecosystem stabilizes.

In the event of a potential chain split Callisto Network Team would ask miners, mining pool operators, exhanges and wallet providers to resync to the main Callisto Network chain. Treasury funds will be used to compensate any potential losses.

Callisto Mining Protection Program

In case the difficulty of the network reaches a point where the block time is higher than 1 minute, the Callisto Network Treasury will reward the block miner based on a block time of 15 seconds.

A budget of 2 million Callisto has been allocated for this program.

Example: for mining a block with 10 minutes time you will get 40x block reward.
