Britain was instrumental in ending slavery on a global scale. The West Africa Squadron soared the seas, ending not only Britain's slave trade but everyone else's. In modern terms, the campaign cost £1 trillion. Britain paid her debt, it is time to move on.
This debate is nonsensical, it always comes down to ""What did the Romans ever do for us?"
