Q: Some people think that success is the best measure for intelligence, while others believe that intelligence can be measured in other ways. What is your opinion?

Answer:

Nowadays, the vast majority of society believes that achievement is a reliable measurement and could be the standard of intellectual ability. Whereas, the others think another point, which the talent can be assessed with a variety of parameter. Nevertheless, in my mind, I never believe that success is the only tools to measure our skills and performance. In the forthcoming paragraph, this essay will discuss some factors of successful people and the way they utilize the capabilities within them.

To begin with, most successful people always depart from one similar thing which is to work hard and consistent. According to the research, when unusual behaviour becomes a habit, we need to do something that we are aiming for consistently every day. For instance, the students who try to get the reward as the result of their effort, have to build a small act with study for 20 minutes every day to recall the lesson that they have learnt at school. Similarly, if someone wants their business to become successful and gain a huge profit, they must get rid of the bad habit and perseverance.

Secondly, recognition of our personalities and skills are important to be considered. Moreover, time management is needed to organize how well we could enhance and make an improvement on our ability. As an example, learning online by enrolling in some specific course in accordance with our talent on the trusted website will give us more benefits. In addition, set the priority and the main goal, so that we can create a pathway and identify the necessary skills that we need.

To conclude this, success is just the effect of work hard and consistent. IQ itself can be assessed by how far that we have developed ourselves into a better version than before.

Q: Companies are responsible only for making money for their investors. Therefore, they should not be held accountable for the environmental and social costs of their business activity to society as a whole. Businesses should do no more than concentrate on making profit.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Answer:
From a strictly capitalist point of view, companies exist simply to make profits and there are businesses that focus on this aim regardless of social or environmental consequences. Such an approach to business is not only irresponsible but may be self-defeating, in that firms who continuously ignore such factors may even be harming their profits.

First of all, from a business point of view, public awareness of green issues is at an all-time high, and firms that are seen as working hard to restrict pollution and encourage recycling are often looked on more favourably by consumers. Therefore, being environmentally friendly is not only better for the planet, it could also give companies an advantage over competitors. In addition, in many countries there are government incentives for companies to lessen their environmental impact. For example, the introduction of carbon credits means that firms can protect the environment and receive tax credits in return, so clearly there are also economic rewards to being environmentally friendly.

Equally, businesses who disregard public opinion or engage in socially irresponsible practices do so at great risk. They may find themselves subject to strikes and boycotts of their products, and firms who continuously provoke negative social reactions may eventually be barred from trading within certain markets. On the other hand, those businesses who work hard to maintain the public trust are more likely to experience increased sales, leading to more revenue.

In summary, businesses should not be blinded by profits. They need to remember that they are subject to the will of the public on issues such as the environment and their social stance. If they want to succeed, these factors should not be ignored and, properly managed, could even help boost revenues.

Q:The higher proportion of older population will over take younger generation what is the reason? is it positive or negative development?

Answer:

Undoubtedly, it is an absolute truth that senior communities will be skyrocketed dramatically than younglings, is the near future. This would be due to the better-advanced health care system. I, personally, opine that it is non-welcoming development; notwithstanding, the disquisition delves into in-depth grounds, as well as will also explore why I do think so.

Apparently, the main rationale why the statistics of elder citizens will pop up, might because of the better and the advanced medical system. Consequently, researchers, doctors, and scientists have clinched a greater level of success to win against life-threatening diseases; hence, the life span of people is already escalated. An article by GNA (Guardian Newspaper of America), for instance, stated that by 2050, a human being would be able to defeat cancers, and autoimmune disorders, and will lead a longer life. Ergo, older people will live longer than average years.

Conversely, the tendency can be proven as a disadvantageous for youngsters and the governments, if it will succeed. In detail, if they will have the elder crowd, the authorities would have to allocate a major fraction of the nation's budget to the health care system. For example, to take responsibility for baby boomers the executives will have to hire a plethora of health care workers, therefore, other sectors which need remuneration namely education and research will not be progressed. Wherefore, the justification of a more aged population is a clear sign of restricted progression.

To conclude, having explored both standpoints, I recapitulate that due to awareness of fitness, and the ultramodern medical system, the age of the public will be doubled in sooner time; nonetheless, it is evident that such a development is unfortunate for further growth of the community.

Theme: Explain how new scientific knowledge or a new process has helped one of the following in recent years - farmers, manufacturers, doctors, engineers

Agriculture one of the most ancient occupations of man ever since the birth of civilization had been a rickety business till recently. The poor farmers had to depend on bullocks, buffaloes and horses for plowing. In some countries they used even camels. The plough was very crude. Traditionally the farmer knew the kind of seed and soil but when things went wrong he was helpless against natural calamities. He was following crude methods to store his food grains. The lack of proper transport was a problem. So against odds the farmer had to struggle hard.

Now thanks to the advance of technology, a number of agricultural implements have been put into the hands of the farmer. They help him in extensive and intensive agriculture. The bulldozer is a powerful machine which helps in leveling the ground in a short time whereas in the past it would take several days of manual work. Then there is the tractor which helps the farmer in plowing. Different types of plough shares can be attached to the tractor and deep, plowing has become possible. With the traditional or drawn plough, plowing was not efficient. Even for planting the seeds like grains, potato and sugar cane, there are different types of equipment facilitating efficient performance. In vast areas harvestors are used for harvesting which can harvest and separate the grain from the dry stalk. Mechanically the grain can be taken to storage bins, or 'SILOS' which are rodent proof.

Chemical fertilizers have become the order of the day. Since the nature of the soil can be tested and the kind of manure a crop may need is available, a farmer can choose a suitable fertilizer to get a bumper crop. The deficiency or the weakness of the soil is known and duly corrected. Plants suffer from various diseases and there are pests which prey on them. These are being countered today with powerful pesticides and insecticides and as such the diseases are kept under control. Good seeds have become possible because of research. Hybrids which resist diseases and at the same time give high yield are now available to the willing farmer. This knowledge becomes available to the farmer through the media and agriculture department.

Soil conservation methods are used so that the nature of the soil is preserved. So too in the case of water conservation. Water is not allowed to go to waste. By putting up dams across rivers, water is being stored which can be economically used and because of this, millions and millions of hectares of land have been brought under the plough increasing the production of food grain. Deep well-pumps have come to the rescue of the farmer. In the traditional method man and the animal had to sweat and labor with poor returns but, with pump sets, well irrigation had become very efficient and areas which were once almost deserts have become productive.

Modern methods of transport have also come to help the farmer in finding a distant market. Wheat from America can be transported to countries where people are starving.

So we find science has made agricultural inroads which is a viable contribution to the economy.

Q: Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems as well as practical problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Answer:
Living in a country where one has to speak a language other than their native tongue could lead to quite disturbing problems, both on a social level and a practical one. Therefore, I am in complete agreement with the statement.

A language barrier often translates into other forms of barriers, in addition to basic communication. To order something online or through the phone, for example, a person should have some understanding of the service provider’s language, otherwise they would probably not be able to place an order. The same problem occurs when one goes on a job interview, especially one that is not in person. Without a clear understanding of the employer’s language, the candidate is unlikely to make the best first impression and obtain the job.

While less severe in everyday, especially face-to-face, interactions, the problem still remains unresolved as missing even the most minute detail of an utterance might lead to misunderstanding and subsequent complications, most notably in understanding culture-bound norms, rituals, or propositions. What is more, a person with little understanding of a language may never find friends, at least lasting ones, or a lover as both cases would require in-depth discussions and arguments on a range of subjects to be held.

It is true that there are non-verbal factors involved in any interaction, such as facial expressions and hand gestures, but they never even come close to clear articulation of language in terms of communicating the meaning the speaker has in mind. This very important missing factor tends to result in the breakdown of communication which in turn impedes the formation of a relationship.

In conclusion, I believe a language barrier is nothing we can dismiss lightly, especially when living in a country where the official language is one we do not know.
