Know About Grocery Rebate Eligibility | New One-Time Payment

https://immigrationnewscanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Grocery-Rebate-Canada-Eligibility.jpg Last Updated On 5 July 2023, 9:24 PM EDT (Toronto Time)
The new one-time grocery rebate bill c-46 (Cost of Living Act) received royal assent to become legislation on May 11, 2023.

Eligible Canadians will receive this one-time grocery rebate from CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) via direct transfer or cheque on July 5, 2023.

The new one-time Grocery Rebate will provide targeted inflation relief for the 11 million low- and modest-income Canadians and families who need it the most.

Canadians having an income less than the listed below will automatically get this one-time grocery rebate payment along with their GST/HST rebate.
Below are the scenarios shared by feds on amount of the one-time payment.

A single mother with one kid who makes $30,000 in net income will be given $386.50 for groceries. This is in addition to the $1,160 she has received from the GST Credit this year.

A senior citizen living alone who earns $20,000 in net income will get $233.50 for food. This is in addition to the roughly $701 he will earn from the GST Credit this benefit year.

$467 will be given to a couple with two kids having a net income of $35,000. This is in addition to the nearly $1,401 they will get from the GST Credit this benefit year. Know About Canada CAI-Climate Action Incentive Payment Who is eligible for Grocery Rebate?Married/common-law couple with no children having annual income of $52,066 and an individual with income of no more than $49,166 will be eligible for one-time grocery rebate payment.

The one-time grocery rebate payment will be automatically sent to Canadians on July 5, 2023. How to apply for one-time Grocery Rebate? The Grocery Rebate, which will be given together with the July GST Credit payment, does not require recipients to submit an application.

However, in order to be eligible for the reimbursement, they must, if they haven’t already, complete their 2021 tax return.
“While inflation continues to come down for the ninth month in a row, in Budget 2023, our government is delivering new, targeted inflation relief for Canadians who need it most, and providing immediate support to strengthen public health care for Canadians. It is excellent news for Canadians that Bill C-46 received Royal Assent today, following unanimous approval by the House of Commons just a few weeks ago.”
Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Canada

IRCC Announces First Targeted Express Entry Draw Of July 2023

https://immigrationnewscanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Canada-Express-Entry-March-23.webp Last Updated On 5 July 2023, 11:58 AM EDT (Toronto Time)
First STEM occupations targeted Express Entry draw today sent out 500 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency (PR).

Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cutoff increases by 10 points to 486 as compared to first Healthcare occupations targeted draw on June 28.

Below are the full details of STEM occupations targeted Express Entry draw announced today:

* Number of invitations issued: 500
* Rank required to be invited to apply: 500 or above
* Date and time of round: July 05, 2023 13:38:22 UTC
* CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 486
* Tie-breaking rule: November 23, 2022 00:01:29 UTC Immigration Minister announced last week that 1,500 more invitations will be sent this week.

So with only 500 ITAs sent for STEM occupations, we believe more draws to follow today or this week with 1,000 more invitations to apply targeted at other occupations listed for Express Entry draws.

Or additional 1,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) only for Express Entry profiles in 35 healthcare occupations. Jump ToKnow How Targeted Express Entry Draws Will Affect You Full List of 24 STEM Occupations With NOC CodesCRS Score Distribution in the Pool as of July 5, 2023https://immigrationnewscanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/express-entry-draw-crs-score-distribution-in-pool-july-5-871x1024.png

On July 4, IRCC also invited 700 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 511 in a surprise all-program draw. Express Entry candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program are considered in an all-program draw.

The most recent category-based draw took place last week on June 28 and invited 500 healthcare professionals with a minimum CRS score of 476, the lowest CRS score in any Express Entry draw so far in 2023. New Targeted Express Entry Draws: List Of Eligible NOC Codes What are these new occupation targeted Express Entry draws?IRCC will now be inviting in-demand skilled workers by focusing on candidates with experience in 82 occupations in key sectors such as healthcare, STEM professions, trades, transport, and agriculture.

New occupation-based Express Entry draws will prioritize candidates with at least 6 months of work experience in one of the following industries over the past 3 years:

1. healthcare
2. science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
3. trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
4. transport
5. agriculture and agri-food What about the ‘no program specified’ Express Entry draws?IRCC has previously clarified that ‘no program specified’ Express Entry draws will continue alongside the new targeted draws, but number of invitations will reduce in order to accommodate invitations sent out in targeted draws. What effect would targeted Express Entry draws have on the CRS score? It is anticipated that the CRS cutoff score for Express Entry candidates with experience in one of the targeted occupations/NOC codes will decrease.

However, the CRS score cutoff will rise for profiles in ‘no program specified draws’.
