Hi, it’s Chiko here! What’s in your head, zombie?

What kind of zombie is your favourite? Fast running or slow creeping, starving for brains or flesh, smart or dumb, rotting or fresh-killed? In the original script for 1968's Night of the Living Dead, director George A. Romero refers to his flesh-eating antagonists as "ghouls." Despite the fact that the film is usually credited with popularizing the term "zombie," Romero would not use the term until his ten-year follow-up, Dawn of the Dead. During the production of the first film, Romero mistook zombies for the undead Haitian slaves depicted in Bela Lugosi's horror picture "White Zombie" from 1932. After that, zombies got their groove on in Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" music video. Since then, zombies have dominated pop culture in many different forms!
