I just read a local news article about a 9-year-old who became suicidal and needed to be hospitalized because of how depressed he was about not being able to go to school in-person. He asked his dad if he could die for his birthday. The entire comments section is filled with people telling similar stories about their kids, especially ones with learning disabilities, who have completely regressed academically, emotionally, and socially. One said her autistic child now wets the bed again. Another said her learning disabled kid in fifth grade is now only at a second grade level. There is massive pushback against what these lockdowns have done to education, and this is perhaps the most liberal part of all of America. An entire generation just had their futures robbed.

And it’s not just the lockdown to blame. It’s every selfish teacher in the unions who put barrier after barrier in the way of coming back to school. They realized they can get paid without ever needing to show up, and now they won’t come back until every superfluous safety demand is met.
