Ive come in to be the health advocate for someone near and dear … 87yrs old and they want to keep him for a few more days to watch him. He was admitted for weakness/wobbly and throwing up blood (they think its an ulcer) and his BP was high from not eating He wants to be home and home is ready to offer a higher level of care Its a small town ICU and with one other patient on the floor and it feels like theyre just running up billable hours and keeping the beds full. Thats right … they have him in ICU I also must add … i just got here so it could be more serious…but they have not communicated that and burses dont seem to know.
