Just like Harry Houdini, the BOM (Australian Bureau of Meteorology) have made White Cliffs’ 124°F (51.1°C) record hot day DISAPPEAR This week 85 years ago, during the great NSW Heatwave of Jan 1939 the official Government weather station at White Cliffs recorded 124°C (51.1°C).
But from a desk in Canberra more than half a century later someone at the BOM
disappeared this record.
For obviously it couldn’t have been that hot (temperatures not reached since) way back then before the era of Global Warming and now Global Boiling.
NB : I photographed the attached page from White Cliffs’ original Jan 1939 log book after searching and finding it in the National Archives before Covid.
